Reid House, 15 John Street West
A 1½-storey Gothic Revival house surrounded by trees. Constructed of salmon brick, which by 1933 was in poor condition, and as a result the house was stuccoed at that time. Note the quoins, lancet window, and the front entrance with a sidelight and a classical pediment. This house has been owned by only two families. Edward Reid, who would later become assistant secretary of Dominion Life, purchased the house in 1933, and his family has owned the house since. Prior to that, it had been in the family of Conrad Decher, a farmer who owned land nearby, since its construction.
