One of four houses on Young Street East (along with numbers 40, 46, and 48) built by John Letter in 1904. A 1½-storey buff brick vernacular dwelling. Actor Cedric Smith, who had numerous movie and television roles, including Alec King in Road to Avonlea and the voice of Professor Charles Xavier in X-Men, lived in this house as a boy after his family moved to Canada from England in the early 1950s.
