St. Louis Roman Catholic Church was built in 1890. Originally, the location of the church was level with the surrounding land. So that the church could stand on high ground, the middle of the block was built up before the church was built. The church was consecrated on January 6, 1891. Bells were installed in 1893, the building was decorated in 1900 (although a 1909 fire necessitated re-decorating later on that year), an organ was added in 1902, and two bells in 1903. An addition, which included the wings on each side of the tower, was constructed in 1913–1914; the cornerstone was laid on May 17, 1914 and the dedication was held on January 24, 1915. A parish hall was built in 1954.
